Academic discourse on hadith qudsi has predominantly been shaped by approaches centered on isnad criticism and the legal-formal verification of its authoritative status, leaving its inherent spiritual-thematic dimension critically underexplored. This article analyzes four qudsi hadiths themed maḥabbah (love) and qurb (servant-God closeness) from the book al-Ittiḥāfāt al-Saniyyah bi al-Aḥādīth al-Qudsiyyah by al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Munāwī. These hadiths include the hadith of Allah's wali, the hadith of a servant's presumption, the hadith of approaching by a handspan, and the hadith of loving for the sake of Allah. Employing a qualitative content analysis approach, the four hadiths are read through the framework of psychological well-being by Carol D. Ryff. This step is taken to map how the concepts of maḥabbah and qurb in Islamic theology can serve as a psycho-spiritual solution that correlates with the dimensions of psychological well-being, such as purpose in life, self-acceptance, personal growth, and positive relations with others. The research findings show that these four hadiths offer a responsive and tiered God-servant relational model, wherein even the smallest spiritual effort is responded to manifold by Allah. Such a narrative structure is conceptually aligned with the principles of psychological well-being in contemporary psychology literature. This article contributes to the enrichment of qudsi hadith studies from a thematic perspective while offering a conceptual bridge between classical hadith theology and the discourse on mental health and psychological well-being of modern humans.
